Here we present a beautiful Pagoda 280 SL with automatic transmission following an extensive ‘nuts and bolts restoration’.
The SL was dismantled down to the last screw at Fritz Wallner Classic in Munich with a mileage of approx. 50,000 miles and rebuilt according to the data card. This means that the vehicle is ‘matching numbers’ and ‘matching colours’.
After the paint was removed, the bodywork was found to be accident-free and rust-free, which made the rebuild much easier.
The transmission was overhauled and a new rear axle with a long gear ratio was installed, as was standard in Germany.
All interior and exterior parts were overhauled according to Mercedes specifications or replaced with Mercedes parts, right down to the Becker Europa radio.
All instruments have also been converted to metric scaling.
The Pagoda is thus in the same condition as when it was delivered in Germany, including the matching key set and the complete on-board folder.
Since its restoration, the Pagoda has only covered approximately 1,300 km and can therefore still be described as a ‘new car’.
